Supervise and direct the reimbursement team by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate staff.

 

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Oversee and streamline billing and collection process.
  • Create, maintain and implement policies and procedures affecting the Reimbursement Team.
  • Provide personnel development by way of weekly staff meetings, team building exercises and further education.
  • Create and maintain job responsibilities and descriptions and update as needed.
  • Perform weekly assessments of the AR, billing and collection activities.
  • Assist reimbursement team members with problem claims, issues or daily work.
  • Review adjustment and refund list as needed.
  • Develop and maintain training material, manuals and guides.
  • Stay current on insurance policies and communicate with branches, billers, AR and corporate employee’s pertinent information.
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications, attending seminars and webinars.
  • Perform annual reviews and issue warnings if needed.
  • Meet with other corporate managers and assisting when needed.
  • Report adjustments, collections and AR assessments to upper management and branches.
  • Run month end reports from SSIMED and Opie systems.
  • Travel to branches and possible educational seminars when needed.

Qualifications:

  • Prior reimbursement billing/collection supervisory experience preferred.
  • Must be detailed oriented and have strong organization skills.
  • Must be a self-starter and team player.
  • Focus on quality and service.
  • Ability to meet multiple deadlines and manage a heavy workload.
  • Integrity to handle sensitive or confidential information is critical.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and proficiency with HCPCS level 2 codes required.
  • Valid driver’s license and maintain current auto insurance coverage.

Education / Training / Experience / Certifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Associate degree preferred.
  • Three to five years’ experience of supervisory / management role required.
  • Knowledge of MS suite: Excel, Word, Microsoft Outlook and Internet.
